“Love Island USA” star Rob Rausch has come a long way since his latest appearance on the hit reality show—7,200 miles, to be precise.

That’s the distance the 26-year-old influencer and reality star traveled when he returned from the “Love Island USA” villa in Fiji to his mobile home that sits on his family’s farm in a small town in north Alabama.

Hosted by “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix, Season 6 of “Love Island USA” premiered this summer on Peacock. And the overall-wearing, snake-wrangling Rausch was one of its biggest stars.

But far from the glitz, glamour, and seemingly endless on-screen drama that Rausch found himself surrounded by during his stint on the show, his life at home in Florence, AL, away from the cameras, is filled with quiet, calm, and, um, multiple snakes.

Ruasch enjoyed a very simple upbringing, being homeschooled on a rural, 200-acre farm—a concept that may seem unimaginable to city folks—and “Love Island” devotees. However, it’s a way of life he relishes to this day.

Rausch was raised in the mobile home with his three siblings; however, this family has since moved into a house nearby, leaving him to enjoy the home by himself.

So much so that he has thus far eschewed the typical trappings of fame and wealth (a mansion, a sports car, and many designer clothes), instead choosing to return to the trailer home where he has resided for years.

His rural charm and apparent obsession with wrangling wild snakes are part of what captivated “Love Island” viewers from his first appearance on screen, although that appeal would ultimately be overshadowed by the controversy and upset surrounding his relationships.

After failing to make a serious connection when he entered the Season 5 five villa as a bombshell, he was dumped from the show in less than a week. However, he made a very memorable return this year, when he launched another bid for love.

Over the month spent basking in the Fiji sun, Rausch had short-term couplings with Leah Kateb, Liv Walker, Andrea Carmona, Cassidy Laudano, and Daniela Ortiz-Rivera.

He chose to couple up for three days with influencer Kassy Castillo, but the romance was short-lived. They were voted off the show July 19, right before the show’s July 21 finale. At the recent reunion, Castillo revealed she’s no longer dating Rausch but said they remain friends.

Soon after the show wrapped, Rausch returned to Alabama and his beloved mobile home, which he has recently opened up in a YouTube video with social media star Caleb Simpson.

In the clip, the snake lover shows off his humble property, while explaining why he prizes the opportunity to live in such a simple way.

“I think if I bought a house, I’d be like, ‘Damn, I wish I was on the land,’ you know?” he said when Simpson asked if he would ever move into a more permanent property.

The “Love Island” star was raised in the trailer with his brother, two sisters, and his parents. It has two bedrooms—one for Rausch and another for his father who “comes and goes.”

His family has since relocated to another house that is just a short distance from the trailer, but Rausch chose to stay behind, taking full advantage of the opportunity to live a laid-back lifestyle.

For the most part, he lives in the trailer by himself, caring for animals on the property, scouting snakes in the local creek, shooting guns at the river, throwing rocks at a random target, and building various furniture and knickknacks out of locally sourced wood.

As far as home security, Rausch says he keeps a ‘fridge knife’ on top of the appliance, that he can grab at a moment’s notice.

While he doesn’t have TV or internet, Rausch finds plenty of activities to occupy his time, including hunting for snakes in the local creek.

Rausch reveals his family built a carport over the trailer to shield it from inclement weather, explaining: “For anybody that’s looking to get a trailer, I highly recommend getting a carport to put over the trailer, because when it rains, it can get real messy.”

As for how he introduces girls to the trailer, the “Love Island” lothario admits that he will occasionally make a joke out of it, telling Simpson that if he brings a girl home and she asks where the bathroom is, he will direct them to the front door and tell them to use the wide fields surrounding his home.

If you want to buy a piece of land and live in the town where Rausch grew up,  you’re in luck. There’s a property on County Road 74, on a little more than a half-acre, that is available for just $8,900. You can build the home of your dreams on Florence’s most affordable piece of land.

But for the ultimate in Florence luxury, a luxurious waterfront estate overlooking Shoal Creek is available for $2.7 million. It’s offered turnkey and fully furnished.

The 7,856-square-foot residence boasts a gourmet chef’s kitchen with an oversized island and prep sink, a home theater with stadium seating, an entertainment room with a full bar, and a heated and cooled four-car garage. Overalls optional!
